I have a tendency to get bored of things really quick but wanted to ensure that fitness was a lifestyle instead of making short term goals like "get fit for summer" and give up when that time period is over. Enjoying bike rides is just a part of that.

My partner bought me a bike for Christmas and for the past three months my dad has been under the impression that's it's an imaginary bike because it doesn't live at our house. Knowing myself I leave it at my partners house in Erowal Bay where flat streets and beautiful scenery is plentiful because I know that if I had it at home and had to ride up or gargantuan hill I wouldn't go bloody anywhere. But here I am, on my bike.

Now I'll be honest with you, I don't know why people use the saying "It's just like riding a bike" because after maybe 15 years of not riding a bike, it's actually pretty darn difficult. I'm finding that I have to re-learn the basics. All the while Dave is telling me that I don't need a helmet "helmets are gay" which I'm quite certain is against the law. My amateur status was perfectly highlighted today during a ride to Huskisson when a lady told her dog "we better move over, she looks to be new at this". I was swerving all over the path and was highly thankful both her and the dog got out if the way. I'm not sure who would have been hurt most in a collision, the dog...or myself
