Ulladulla. New South Wales. Australia.

We have a section in our school newsletter titled "Who we are. Where we live". It's a simple photograph that summarises the vibe of our school and local area. They say that a picture tells a thousand words. If so, the words for Ulladulla would sum up its relaxed vibe, small town feel and amazing natural scenery of beaches, rolling hills and untamed Australian bush.

I spent eight months living in Canberra. It was literally one of the worst times in my life. And while the crazy people I was living with may have had something to do with that, the fact that it was Canberra and not Ulladulla that made my time even worse. Now no shade on Canberra, I'm sure it has plenty of good things to offer, especially if you are a cyclist or a politician, but there really is no place like home.

I've lived in Ulladulla almost my entire life and am very fortunate to be able to live and work there now. It offers a range of cafes and restaurants to spend your weekends grazing at. Walks along our famous beaches are a must as well as the amazing bush tracks that hold spectacular views. There is plenty to do for the art enthusiasts and fitness guru's. We don't have big shopping malls or major department stores. In summer time there is a severe lack of parking and it takes 45 minutes to get to the nearest train station. But I wouldn't have it any other way.

Cherish the place you live. Take in and appreciate its beauty every day. Because when you look at all the things your area has to offer it makes it so much easier to feel blessed and enjoy where your life is at, right here, right now.
