Very Vegan | My Favourite Vegan Cosmetics

I'm not vegan.
But I don't think you need to be in order to be concerned about animal welfare.
As I've started becoming more conscious of what's in the products I buy, cruelty-free and vegan have become a priority. And I don't think I'm the only one who thinks so.
Increasingly, our society is becoming more consumer conscious, aware, questioning and unwilling to accept the status quo. More and more people are choosing the vegan way of life for ethical reasons or otherwise and cosmetics companies are starting to take notice...particularly the little guys on the scene who aren't as caught up in the Capitalist Manifesto as many big businesses.
People like me were once termed 'hippies', 'new age' or a more widely used 'hipster'. But I don't think I'm hipster. Just mildly concerned about my body and the state of the world.
Anyhoo...
After a recent lookey-loo inside my bathroom cupboard, I realised that a number of the brands I already buy are vegan-friendly. Sukin being one of these. I have been using Sukin skincare now for about five years and really can't stop raving about it...
No harmful chemicals - Check
Carbon neutral - Check
Vegan - Check
Aussie owned - Check
Affordable - Check
I reached out to Sukin asking why vegan mattered to them. They responded with "Sukin is 100% vegan, Certified Cruelty Free and will never test on animals. We believe that these furry little creatures should never be harmed in the process of Skincare testing. We are a Vegan brand, we refrain from using any animal by-products, and why would we have to when we can use amazing plant based alternatives such as Shea Butter, Jojoba and Soy Protein to soften and hydrate the skin! Sukin has been dedicated to Vegan and Cruelty Free practices since day one and we only source from suppliers who do not test on animals"
Way to go guys!
Really, what's not to love? A new favourite has been my Tiger and Taupe matte liquid lipstick. I recently did a #Girlboss post on the awesome owner Emily Bass who realises that Vegan is the way that the market is going and wants to be in tune with customer demands and values.
Arbonne made the list firstly because I'm a consultant and thus have access to a range of their products and two, because their anti-ageing range is the bomb. In saying this, they are not at the same price point as Sukin and Tiger and Taupe and so I wouldn't recommend them to everyone. But if you have the cash and value skincare, give them a try.
At the moment I have an excess in beauty products (In my minimalist opinion) so I'm trying to use up what I have and then go back to a really basic routine that consists mostly of coconut oil, Sukin staples and my favourite Tiger and Taupe lippy for work and nights out.
