In all honesty, I haven't bought many things this year. I think completing a six-month no-buy, really had a lot to do with this, but the things I did purchase or receive as gift really rocked my world. Here are a few of my favourite things from 2019:
A Brand Jeans
I discovered these at a local boutique and fell in love. Initially, I bought a pair of white, high waisted jeans with rips in the knees. I never owned a white pair of jeans before and instantly felt 'super cool'. Then I got a plain black pair and later followed it up with a pair of blue mum jeans which I wear obsessively because they are so comfortable.
Pastel Highlighters
No lie, I bought these to be cool. I had seen so many snazzy Instagram posts featuring pretty pastel highlighters decorating diaries and journals. They have been one of my staples when it comes to sprucing up my monthly bullet journal spreads.
Essential Oils
Changed my life, hey! I don't buy the Dottera ones (you all know how I feel about MLM's) but instead have a few staples that I bought fro the chemist. My essential oils are 100% pure and are from an Aussie company. My current favourite scents are peppermint, lemon and sweet orange blossom. I use all of them for air freshener and cleaning and also use the peppermint on my temples when I have a headache. a few drops of lemon in the bath is always super energising after a long day. Lavender is great for a spritz on my pillow before bedtime and I also dot a bit of tea tree on any zits for its anti-bacterial properties.
The Apricot Memoirs
I met creative gypsy, Tess Guinery when I was in my teens and have admired her ever since. when Tess started dabbling on Instagram with poetry, I was here for it. Next she started blending these heart-felt words with simple, yet inspiring artwork. I got given her first book of poetry, "The Apricot Memoirs" for my 30th birthday as a gift from my sisters (I had been wanting it for ages). From the first poem, I was in love and was so inspired that I started writing my own poetry and putting it on my Instagram @a.life.by.carly I'm so excited to get my hands on her second book "The Moonflower Monologues" and have certainly popped it on my Christmas list.
Salt Lamp
I got my salt lamp for Christmas 2018 and for the entirety of 2019 it has been a home decor staple. It provides warm lighting and looks stunning both on and off. I'm not sure how much I believe the whole "Creating positive ions in the atmosphere of your home" business but I certainly do like having it on my bedside table.
Raww Cosmetics
I started using Raww after being 'influenced' by YouTuber Georgie Stevenson. I have now been using their products for almost two years and I can safely say that I'm glad that I succumbed to peer pressure in the first place. My entire makeup bag is virtually Raww (powder, bronzer, illuminator, mascara, CC cream and lipstick) as well as my skincare staples (cleanser and oil). They are an Aussie company also using natural products and infusing all their collection with superfoods to give your skin a boost. Once my no-buy is finished up at the end of the year, I will definitely be making another purchase to stock up on some goodies and try out some new bits and pieces.

I hope you enjoyed seeing some of my 2019 favourites. Comment below, what are some of the things you have fallen head over heels for this year?
