Getting un-stuck | Breaking out of a rut

The definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over again and to expect different results.
Well, I like how the character Tony from NCIS puts it "If you always do what you've always done, then you'll always get what you've always gotten".
Very true, if you ask me.
Lately, I've felt stuck in a rut. Doing the same thing day in day out. Scared to step outside of the lines and do something different. Worried that taking a chance might mean failing.
When my cousin asked if I wanted to go on an adventure day, I was excited. But also worried. Worried that being out all day having fun might mean that I won't get home in time to clean the house, go to the gym and do the shopping. Worried how doing something different might interrupt my 'normal' routine.
What the hell?
I took a moment to contemplate my insanity and then concluded, yes, I had lost my mind.
So I sucked it up, hopped in the car and prepared for 'whatever'. We drove through Kangaroo Valley on our way to Fitzroy Falls. I conquered my fear of heights and stepped as close to the edge of the look-out as my shaking legs would allow.

After a quick bite to eat at the café we got back in the car and prepared to go home. On our way Christel asked if we should detour and check out Robertson. Normally, my Type-A personality would say "No, let's head home so I can be boring and do chores" but instead, I heard the words "We may as well while we are here" escaping my lips.

Who am I?
So we detoured to Robertson, found a random 'big potato' to take photos with, stopped by a creepy cemetery by the side of the road and took a dirt track to see a waterfall. On our way back home, we took another chance and another sketchy road up to Cambewarra lookout. An amazing tea house with a phenomenal view.

I told Crit that I wanted to make YouTube videos. She said "Go for it!" So I recorded our entire trip and edited it on my phone (you gotta start somewhere).
If you always do what you've always done, then you'll always get what you've always gotten.

I could have said "No" to Robertson, gone home and missed out on an entirely new and exciting experience. Take it from me, the person who often lives in fear of getting things wrong, of failing, you only live once! Say "Yes" and be bold. If you are stuck in a rut, that's the best way to break free.
